LENG CHEE KANG
I went to a place call Leng Chai Park.. opss no no Chai Leng Park. It's all about what you are going to see. There is something special in this area for dinner.
Leng Ci Kang? What's that?
Leng Chee Kang.. see.. you can see ... it's cheap....

Got Hello Kitty Leng Chee Kang, what is it all about?
It's Leng Chee Kang everywhere.. what's the big deal?

Oh it's only about the dessert with lychee, logan, dried logan, jelly, sien chow, bali and cendol all mixed up together. Taste good. Next time you are here.. you try yourself.
PUAT, WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Guys, I just want to share what does the locals say about cents. In my hometown, when we say 50 cents, not the Artist 50 cents, I mean when asked for 50 cents, we said, ' 5 kak'.
Here they say '5 puat'. what does it mean anyway? I really have no idea. Maybe just have to know more locals to find out. So what you are seeing in the picture is 7 puat when I pay 1 ringgint for my drink.

Today's Topic : Chemistry

If you are studying science, you must ever come across Periodic Table of Elements.
Now this table represent the world or universe is form by all these elements.

Highlight of today is the one circle in RED. Germanium (Ge)

Ever wonder why it's called Germanium? Well first thing that comes to your mind is Germany.
Yes! you are right.

Germanium was discovered by Clemens Alexender Winkler about 100 years ago in the state of Saxony in German. This element serve as the basic material for electronic components.

Until the late 1950s, all diodes and transistors are made of Germanium. Later, Silicon (Si) has won out Germanium due to cost effectiveness.

Otherwise, Silicon Valley might have called Germanium Valley.

That's I am end up working with Silicon everyday.

My brother said to me for my case, going to Gym is like him going to KLIA. But tell you all one thing, it has alot more to offer. Just read more.
Ok ok.. time for Gym in Penang. My sister said since I took up yoga, I look younger. Dunno true or not. But it never stop from getting fit even it's 50km away.
The moment I am out from Kulim, ta lah... pay pay... here. RM1.30

Cross the the border from Kedah to Penang.

If you still remember, Kedah used to be the place growing rice. The land is flat. This the first that fascinated the most when I touch down Penang on the way to for interview. Looks pretty amazing as it looks exactly like the Malaysian Kind of Story of Kampung Life.

Pay RM1.30 for the second from Kulim <-> Butterworth Highway (BKE).

Get to by pass Mc Donald's at the Caltex Gas Station open 24 hours. If your preffer KFC, just hoop to Petronas next to it.

Get to by pass another toll that soon to complete. No idea how much it cost us again. You see we pay for the tax that is not less from what we can afford and yet we still get to pay for road after paying for road tax & salary tax. I prefer not have highway give me better reason to drive slow or late for work. Hehe.
Get to see weird traffic lights. Which will you follow if one of it turn green?

Ok.. now I am in Butterworth. Crossing the next traffice light will take me to the ferry terminal.

Of course before taking the ferry service, must pay first. RM7.70 for return trip.

If you very been to Denmark from Germany, taking a ferry like that this can cost as much as 40 euro. That is about RM170 per trip. For Malaysia, it's the cheap that can offer. Only RM3.85 per trip. Haha... well Malaysian just always wanted get things for free always.
This is the ferry master. All the car Q up. He is the one to let with car to go first. Of course first come first serve. Eh look at the Kancil... it looks like the one we used to have.
Now I am the top deck of the ferry terminal. See the blue ferry? It just approaches. So got to go.

Now the ferry looks much nicer & clean. But of course comes with some commercials as well. If you can remember from your Geography test book, the Penang Ferry is Orange. Still can see them..but not too many left.

Get to park my car first in the row. As nowadays, the ferry service has 2 types. One with passengers on the second deck and the other for cars on the second deck. I think I get lucky or not, this is a newer ferry that has both decks for cars. This first on to get into the ferry but the ride took me 45 minutes (usual only 30 mintues). Why? Let me try to figure out.. the ferry terminal only has one with the ramp built for cars from the second deck. So we going to Q up for unloading instead.
The best view can see in Butterworth. I wonder why it called this way. How much does the butter worth in Butterworth? The high rise building vs a kampung village.
Watching Kampung kids fishing.

Also kids making sand castle? Hehe.. I bet what kind of sand castle can the malay kid built. The Hang Tuah wooden type. Joking.. : )

Get the best view on the top deck of the ferry and get to see Star Cruise.

Watching this family show me their back side.

Taking the road again by the sea heading to Gurney Drive

Finally, I am in Gurney Drive. Amber Chia the hot model is waiting. For the rest of the work out, sorry no pictures. I don't think it's really good for my handsome guy like me taking pictures in the guys. It certainly spoil my reputation!

Shoes for Chinese New Year.
Now who said Malaysia can't buy good shoes. When I was in Germany, only shoes I feel want to buy easily cost me 100 euro. It's about RM460 per pair.
I decided not to get one in Germany. So once I am back here in Penang, I am starting to hunt for shoes for Chinese New Year. Now see this is my latest pair of shoes. Only Rm260. Looks good. Now my deal for buying shoes is closed.
Northam Beach Cafe This place has turned into my big sister favourite place whenever she visits me in Penang.
Not too far from from the city. Just 5 minutes drive. You get the best seaview. Most of all, you can get all the best local food here. Even Ampulak Juice only Rm2.20 per glass.

Well wonder What is Ampulak Juice? Wait till you try when you are here.
Paradise Not Far AWay

Take for scenario you are staying in Penang, have a brother staying in KL but not willing to come to visit you in Penang cause it's too far away from a day trip. There is always an alternative.
We decided to choose somewhere in the middle. 1.5 hours drive for each one of us. The place is Ipoh City. But in Ipoh City has nothing much to do except doing shopping, where KL & Penang has far better than Ipoh.

So we took a short trip to Tapah town where Lata Kijang is located. Not too familiar with the place? Pretty easy, if you ever travel North South Highway, will see by the road side with a huge waterfall. That's lata Kijang.
This is the picture taken from the highway, lots of people will think of going to the waterfall is just a fingers snap. No no you are wrong, you have to go all the way to Tapah Interchange than take another 17 km from the highway to come here. That's all ok, I will feature more and let you see how interesting.
So we are on the way heading the to the waterfall. It only charge us 50 cents for parking. Damp cheap. What else can we expect from a nice place? Except to return of courtesy by keeping the place clean.
See my brother still has the dimple from the first day he borned. Mum told by the nurse that her son has a dimple.
Eh, 4 of us came here, we 2 bothers brought 1 girl each. It remains secretive as you won't be able to see their faces. Ok simple, i decide to keep this blog today for guys talk.

It's me after being localised in Kulim. Didn't manage to put & gain weight as well. But skin looks fair after 5 months in Germany. Specially when I am wearing short pants.. I scared out of myself in the mirror.

It took me awhile before publishing this photo. Why? Well look at yourself, it's my handsome brother, now a software engineer. He spoken to me that he knows exactly what he wants for his career. I fully understand what he wants. For sorry bro in law & sisters, IT has many fields but Chia is definitely not the type to doing call center job. My company has this kind of call center people. I would never allow my brother to work like this taking take of computer idiots like me.

He is heading to software & system development that has more value in the future.
Oh yea.. by the way, I think he looks good now rather than the skinny first year in Uni.
Just keep up the exercise.
We don't have go to far for the best scenery & enjoying if we know exactly where to find them. But of course there are some comprises. With Malaysian attitude with the environment.

If you are looking at the picture, u re lucking for not washed away by the stream. I took this pictures at the middle of the stream. Hehe.. actuall there is big stone here that I was stand on the top of it.
It was 31 Dec 2006. Holiday of course. Everybody is enjoying not thinking of work tomorrow.
This is the scene taking from down stream. Someone is admiring the waterfall from the suspension bridge. We were at the bridge just now but not as steady as her.
The local is not drowning. He is just enjoying his time with the naturally jacuzzi.

So that's all about Lata Kijang Waterfall.

New Year 2007 Dinner In Ipoh

We didn't realise it's still early for dinner around 6:15pm. So choose a restaurant called 1919.
To our surprise, west Malaysians don't usual have dinner this time but this restuarant was fully booked. The boss managed to squeeze our a table for 4 for us. So you can see this table is really small. As usual, I din have to take pictures of what are the dishes. But it's really damp Ipohicious. What is the our menu?
1. Pineapple rice - even we are still full with the lunch taken at 3:00am. We still love the fried pineapple rice.

2. Code Fish - Steam. The boss told us it's bit expensive but I said just give it a shot. I want my brother and friends to have the best dinner ourside Kuching other then mum's Kuching.

3. Salted Egg Fried Chicken - now you mostly used to butter & lemon chicken. But I tell you, the salted egg friend chicken is something different. Even we had steamed chicken for lunch.

4. Broccoli & Scallops - fresh seafood yummy.

5. Thailand style king prawns - since we are here not having much seafood. This is the best time to have one. Some more to say we expecting a new year.

Oh yea.. just something to share with you, we didn't order the normal thai style salad. they called Kelabu. Can be Kelabu Mango, Kelabu papaya..and etc. Almost every table around us had one. I dun think we, Sarawakian will be used to taste. So we dicide to order Kelabu.

After New Year dinner, Chia decided to 'chia' us. The Old Town Cafe which famous around Malaysia now originated from Ipoh. But this modern coffee shop is belongs to the son's. There are people told me that in Ipoh must go to the Father's shop.
Father is the person to create the recipe and the son is the person to market it around Malaysia.

This is the interior of the Malaysian Starbucks. You can order anything.. even Maggie Mee with Ham & Sunny side up on top. So everybody was really full now but just take our time for the coffee here before heading home around 9:00pm.
Chia will be heading home for KL & I will be heading to Penang.
