New Year 2007 Dinner In Ipoh

We didn't realise it's still early for dinner around 6:15pm. So choose a restaurant called 1919.
To our surprise, west Malaysians don't usual have dinner this time but this restuarant was fully booked. The boss managed to squeeze our a table for 4 for us. So you can see this table is really small. As usual, I din have to take pictures of what are the dishes. But it's really damp Ipohicious. What is the our menu?
1. Pineapple rice - even we are still full with the lunch taken at 3:00am. We still love the fried pineapple rice.

2. Code Fish - Steam. The boss told us it's bit expensive but I said just give it a shot. I want my brother and friends to have the best dinner ourside Kuching other then mum's Kuching.

3. Salted Egg Fried Chicken - now you mostly used to butter & lemon chicken. But I tell you, the salted egg friend chicken is something different. Even we had steamed chicken for lunch.

4. Broccoli & Scallops - fresh seafood yummy.

5. Thailand style king prawns - since we are here not having much seafood. This is the best time to have one. Some more to say we expecting a new year.

Oh yea.. just something to share with you, we didn't order the normal thai style salad. they called Kelabu. Can be Kelabu Mango, Kelabu papaya..and etc. Almost every table around us had one. I dun think we, Sarawakian will be used to taste. So we dicide to order Kelabu.

After New Year dinner, Chia decided to 'chia' us. The Old Town Cafe which famous around Malaysia now originated from Ipoh. But this modern coffee shop is belongs to the son's. There are people told me that in Ipoh must go to the Father's shop.
Father is the person to create the recipe and the son is the person to market it around Malaysia.

This is the interior of the Malaysian Starbucks. You can order anything.. even Maggie Mee with Ham & Sunny side up on top. So everybody was really full now but just take our time for the coffee here before heading home around 9:00pm.
Chia will be heading home for KL & I will be heading to Penang.
